The New York State public school tournament gets underway this week, with quarterfinals at the end of the week and the Final Four held in the Cortland region on Nov. 12-13.
The four Section 9 champions thus far are Monroe-Woodbury (Class AA), Goshen (Class A), Our Lady of Lourdes (Class B) and Mount Academy (Class D). The Class C sectional final is Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Valley Central (Class AA), Goshen (Class A), Lourdes (Class B), Tri-Valley (Class C) and Mount Academy (Class D) were the No. 1 seeds in sectionals.

No. 4 Warwick 2, No. 5 Newburgh 0: Host Warwick posted two goals in the final five minutes, from Johannah Bradley and Trinity Irizzary. Lily Bailey made eight saves for Warwick. Taryn Judson of NFA also had eight stops.

No. 1 Valley Central 5, No. 4 Warwick 0: Mackenzie Delmonico tallied three goals and two assists to lead Valley Central. Riley Schmidt and Samantha Setteducato each added a goal. Valley Central goalkeeper Grace Suchy made 10 saves in the clean-sheet win. Lily Bailey and Courtney Evans were in goal for Warwick. No. 2 Monroe-Woodbury 6, No. 3 Pine Bush 0: Francesca Donovan scored four goals as the host Crusaders won the semifinal. Ella Natal and Emily McGee also scored. Olivia Shippee and Reece Dolan each made three saves for the shutout win. Grace Druke stopped eight shots for Pine Bush.

No. 2 James I. O'Neill 6, No. 7 Dover 0: Daisy West tallied three goals and two assists to lead O'Neill (13-1-1). Jael Marie Guy added two goals. Kate Feldman also contributed a goal. Goalkeeper CJ Conkey made five saves for O'Neill in the clean-sheet victory. Keziah Samuel made 19 saves for Dover.
