Wed May 22, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Tucker still thinks that Ashley needs help, Devon fills Jack in on what Billy has been doing, and Audra is evasive as Nate tries to probe her.
Tuesday’s recap: Cole discovered Jordan in Victor’s dungeon, Ms. Abbott deceived Tucker, and Connor’s condition deteriorated.

At Crimson Lights, Jack leaves a message with Traci, asking her to let him know if she hears from Ashley.
He turns and bumps into Devon.
They catch up. Jack guesses Billy is making things hard at work.
“Exciting,” says Devon. Jack guesses that’s an evasion.
They discuss Billy’s talent for ruffling feather. Jack is startled to hear that Jill has ceded control to Billy.
It seems out of character for Jill and Billy’s respect for family.
Devon tells him that Billy wanted to rebrand the company by adding the Abbott name.
This is all news to Jack. He hopes things aren’t untenable.
Devon thinks that Billy thrives on conflict and asks if Jack can get his brother to relax.
Jack can’t. He’s sure they can find their way through this.
He explains that his brother usually pushed for power when he’s feeling undervalued.
He urges Devon to think of what Neil would do and set the tone so they can all move forward together.
In the Newman dungeon, Cole wakes Jordan and demands to know what’s going on. She begs him to get her out of there.
Babbling, she asks him to let her hold him but he won’t come near her.
She begs him to let her out of there. It’s what his mother would want.
Cole has no key and demands to know how she wound up in there.
She claims she is Victor’s trophy and he comes down there to gloat at her.
Jordan keeps begging for help and food, claiming she has learned her lesson and is reformed.
She offers to leave town if he lets her out.
Cole refuses to believe her after all she’s done.
She asks him to call the cops on her and Victor because she can’t take this anymore.
He refuses to call the police. She reminds him she’s all the family he has left.
He points out that Claire and Victoria are his family and she tried to take them from him.
As she declares Victor is a madman, he says he needs time to think and runs out.
Cole stumbles upstairs and finds Claire and Victoria babbling about horse grooming.
As they talk about bonding with horses, Cole stares. Eventually, they notice he’s distracted.
Victor strolls in and comments on how happy everyone looks.
Cole claims he just came to asks his daughter and Victoria to lunch. They file out.
Cole, Victoria, and Claire have lunch at Society. The ladies talk about horses.
Cole is distracted. He tells them he’s just happy to see them smile.
They talk about how great Claire is with Harrison and how strenuous child care is.
Claire admits she turned down the job for Summer’s sake.
Victoria thinks that Summer should realize there is no reason to fear Claire.
Claire says it will just take them all time to realize they are really safe. Cole fidgets.
His daughter talks about how she’s been looking into childhood education. She’s thinking of doing a masters in it.
As she talks about play-based learning, Cole flashes back to Jordan begging him to release her and promising never to return.
Suddenly, he excuses himself and walks off.
Stepping outside, he calls Michael and asks to meet.

In Chancellor Park, Nate brings Audra some vanilla ice cream.
They talk about how it is the benchmark for all other flavors.
As they eat, she teases him about ducking out of work.
He asks if she is willing to investigate her “good side.”
She did all her self-improvement in her twenties and finds it boring.
He admits he doesn’t know much about her and sense she doesn’t know much about herself either.
When he suggests she’s propelled by heartbreak, she grimaces about Noah and tries turning this around on him.
Nate admits he used ambition as a distraction with Elena. She suggests it was more like an aphrodisiac with Victoria.
Hastings just hopes that she has finally figured things out and realized that everything with Tucker is just transactional.
She suggests that what they are doing is just transactional.
They chat about business and he guesses that she is up to something, which he assumes involves Glissade.
He reminds her that she approached him about making a move on Tucker and notes she doesn’t seem worried about finding a new job.
She assures him she always lands on her feet.
“You are extremely desirable…as an employee,” he says, reminding her they have no strings.
As she wipes the ice cream off his lips, Lily arrives and spots them.
She interrupts and reminds him that they have a business call before walking off.
Audra gets that his cousin doesn’t like her. She and Nate make a lunch date.
When Lily gets to the office, she tells Devon that she just saw Nate and Audra being flirty.
Devon doesn’t think it’s a big idea but she doesn’t trust Audra and that reflects badly on Nate’s instincts.
Nate joins them and Lily admits she doesn’t like him getting cozy with Audra.
He tries to reassure her them and says he’s just being supportive to a friend while she goes through a rough time.
He smirks. They shake their heads.
In the jazz lounge, Miss Abbott tries pushing Tucker’s buttons about Audra and urges him to trust her.
They always come back together because it is the realest thing they have ever known.
Touching his ear, she offers to remind him of how incredible they are together.
Pushing her away, he refuses to go anywhere with her.
She wants him to forgive her so they can move on.
She admits she’s been volatile but she can’t walk away from her soul mate,
He thinks that’s a nice thought but this is not about love.
Clearly, she’s going through something.
He’s sure she thinks she’s being sincere, but it’s coming from a broken place and she needs help.
She tells him he’s a coward and the other alters cheer her on.
Miss Abbott tells him that Audra was just some rebound chick and that failed.
She’s sure Audra can never give him what he needs but she can.
He knows she’s trying to provoke him.
Resting her head on his shoulder, she asks what she can do to convince him.
Tucker asks her to see a legitimate therapist.
When he asks who he is speaking to, she bats him away.
Taking her hand, he tells her this has gone on too long.
He accuses her of sending Alan away because she’s afraid of what he would find.
He’s sure teh real Ashley would want help. She tells him to shove his sanctimony.
As she storms out, Belle tells Miss Abbott she has failed and needs to let go.
Ashley collapses and Tucker catches her.
At the Abbott estate, Traci worries to Alan about her sister disappearing again.
They talk about her reluctance to see help and Alan knows this is all a lot to process.
Jack arrives and they think that Ashley may be worse off than any of them think.
She’s not herself and that means she could do anything.
Alan explains that Ashley has been having memory issues and also tried to kiss him and then became petulant.
He also witnessed a pretty profound personality shift before she took off.
Alan adds that Tucker has also witnessed these shifts and heard her refer to herself in the third person.
Clearly, she has different personas that have been created to protect her.
They tell him about when her changes in personality occurred and he can’t see this as just being the result of a breakup.
Traci wonders if this is connected to a tumor. Alan thinks it is something else.
This all seems to be about some trauma larger than the marriage ending.
